The Fractured Archive reward list mixes equipment, prayer progression and utility. This guide explains those roles so you can ask a better question than “which new item is best?”: which reward addresses something your account actually needs?
For the wider raid, start with our OSRS Raids 4 overview. Equipment is only part of the loot: fragments, the pet and utility items are covered below. The complete reward listing is maintained on the OSRS Wiki raid page.
Reward checklist
Reward | Role |
|---|---|
Obligator | Crush weapon |
Ascension crossbows | Ranged weapon |
Zorya’s tome | Powered magic weapon |
Rondache | Defensive shield |
Horn of Bran | Zeal prayer progression |
Archivist’s Folio | Raid teleport utility |
Obligator
Obligator rolls damage up to four times according to the target’s relative melee defences and selects its best result. It gains bonus damage against larger targets and can hit enemies in a line. Its faster mode gives up the re-roll and multi-target behaviour. Jagex’s release notes describe the weapon’s modes.
Before comparing upgrades: specify the target, the attack mode and the rest of the loadout. A favourable result against one enemy does not establish the best weapon for every encounter. Avoid buying from a damage screenshot alone.
Ascension crossbows
Ascension crossbows are dual-wield heavy Ranged weapons using Ascension bolts. Ascension shards are used to craft the ammunition, so include bolt consumption in running costs. Source: Ascension shards reference.
Before comparing upgrades: record which ammunition a demonstration uses and whether its running cost is included. A weapon price and an hour of use are different budget questions.
Zorya’s tome
Zorya’s tome is a two-handed powered magic weapon requiring 85 Magic. Its normal attack speed is three ticks. The special attack can accelerate the next three attacks when its initial hit succeeds. Source: current tome reference.
Before comparing upgrades: distinguish sustained damage from a special-attack burst. A short clip can favour a burst window without showing the full encounter, preparation or resource use.
Rondache
The Rondache mitigates eligible Melee, Ranged and Magic damage by two. Prevented damage builds charges for Shield Bash. Typeless damage is excluded; the shield is not blanket protection against every raid mechanic. Source: official reward descriptions.
Before comparing upgrades: consider what you give up in the shield slot and whether the defence helps you complete the activity more consistently. Comfort and speed are both useful, but they should be measured separately.
Horn of Bran and the Zeal prayer
Zeal upgrades Piety. Its requirements include 84 Prayer, 75 Attack and 75 Strength; its boosts are 25% Attack, 28% Strength and 25% Defence. The Horn of Bran is part of unlocking it. Follow the documented Zeal unlock steps rather than assuming the horn alone bypasses other requirements.
Account planning: check the unlock path before allocating your budget. An item you cannot yet use may be a later milestone rather than the next purchase.
Archivist’s Folio and Ascension shards
The untradeable Folio provides return teleports to the Archive and uses Ascension shards for charges. Source: Archivist’s Folio reference.
Shards also serve equipment and ammunition functions. Keep utility charges separate from combat running costs in your own notes so that repeated trips do not disappear from the budget.
Elemental Fragments: permanent spell upgrades
There is a fragment for each of air, water, earth and fire. These untradeable rewards increase the corresponding elemental spell’s base maximum hit by two. Because the increase applies to the base hit, Magic damage bonuses and elemental weaknesses also affect its value. Official fragment description.
Practical use: match the upgrade to the spells you cast. A fire fragment does not improve every magic attack or every powered staff. Check the matching element before planning around the bonus.
Orion and collection rewards
Orion is the raid pet. The raid also has its collection-log progression to work through. Pet hunting and equipment upgrades are separate goals; do not assume a pet probability from the relative distribution of weapon rewards. Reward and collection reference.
Collecting your loot
After defeating Ocellus, use The Blade to reach the reward room. Check your personal chest before leaving. Unclaimed rewards can be recovered through the loot wheelbarrow in the lobby. Reward-chest reference.
Drop rates and GP per hour
We are not assigning numerical unique rates: the reward-chest reference currently lists unknown rarities. We also do not quote a guaranteed profit figure.
A transparent estimate should state the date, item prices, successful clears per hour, failed attempts, supplies and how team rewards are split. If those inputs are missing, treat the number as a claim to investigate.
Which reward should I target first?
Choose around your account and activity. Check requirements, recurring costs, alternatives and the evidence behind the upgrade. This guide explains reward roles; it does not rank them as a universal shopping list.
